George Rowland Burdick fought in World War I in France. He fell in love with Rose Marche and had a child, Lucy. George returned to America for medical treatment and died at the Naval Hospital in Brooklyn, NY on October 15, 1929. The note is one he wrote to Rose shortly before his death. The greeting cards are from friends and/or family. Rodney Burdick sewed a Family History Quilt featuring the family of Clark and Clarissa (Crandall) Burdick of Burdickville, RI who are recognized as Revolutionary Patriots by the Sons of The American Revolution (SAR). The quilt includes pictures of Clark, Clarissa and 11 of their 18 children! Rodney won Second Place in the Amateur Wall Hanging Category in the Ogallala Quilt Festival in Dimmitt, Texas. Charles Mortimer Burdick, b.13 Mar 1873, Town(s)ville PA, as a child (front, center). He's changed his surname to Vincent around 1904. The man on his right, with his legs crossed is probably George Burdick, Charles' father. The other man is one of George's brothers.Charles' mother was supposedly of Chippewa Indian descent (Eveline Mattison Burdick) and the lady standing behind the unknown man appears to be Indian in appearance. Eveline was born 1 June 1855, Bear Lake PA, died 8 Sept 1878, Town(s)ville, PA. The larger woman may be one of George's sisters. DO you know more about the people in this photo? If so, please write. Burdick/Cobb Reunion, 1910. Jenny, mother of Lena Burdick Manno, is on the far left with the dark dress and locket; the twins Evelyn and Evan are on the left, two little ones in front who are held by Lena on the left and Pearl on the right, possibly Harry in a suit and hat to the right of Jenny, squatting down. This picture was taken around 1910. Grandma Cobb and Grandma Burdick side by side sitting, standing back Mandy Murphy and Uncle Jean and Lena. The picture was taken at Burnwood across the road by Grandma and Grandpa Cobbs place in the woods. You can do a family search for Jenny's lineage...Noah Cobb Jr. b. June 1, 1806 Orange Co., NY. and Elizabeth Lowry, b. Jan 1, 1809 whose son William Washington Cobb b. July 4, 1834, was married to Mary M. Allen b. May 18, 1836. Mary Stewart, taken at the Avery’s Studio in Pulaski, New York. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1860’s or 1870’s with Mary likely in her 20’s at the time. In addition to her name, someone has written “whose Mother Elmira HUBBARD STEWART was sister of Caroline HUBBARD wife of Daniel J. BURDICK, Grandfather of Bertha HUTCHINS CHASE".
